Hello to all of our lovely friends & supporters.
I am back! In what capacity, I am not fully sure in this moment. And, I AM back.
The summer was a much needed break. Being able to take a step back and regroup was definitely the right choice. This film is very personal, and extremely important to me - with that comes a lot of emotion, and internal pressure to complete it in a way that not only brings light to the realities & severities of the injuries sustained during the pandemic, but to also ensure that Kristin's voice, and the voices of everyone like her, are heard clearly. We want to connect with the world, as humans, and allow others to see who we really are, in a way that can bring us together.
I am tired. I feel very much alone in this project, and am not sure how to get back on track with things. I cannot do it on my own. If you know of anyone that would be willing to help put the pieces of this film together with me, please send them my way. In the meantime, I am brain-storming, note-taking, and sifting back through footage to find the right place to stick my heels in.
Kristin's health continues to be unpredictable. With spans of seemingly "well" (as far as her condition goes) days, into relapses and weeks of feeling like nothing in her body is working; she simply cannot know what each day will bring. She is currently dealing with a relapse of symptoms, and has not been feeling her best.
We have yet to find any medical practitioner anywhere that has reliable or useful information on how to help her. Her days are spent coping with each symptom as it comes, and doing her best to find ways to alleviate or soften her pain. She has learned to accept where she is at, and knows that she will have regular ups and downs. We are still hopeful that something will shift in the future, and someone somewhere is busy searching for medical solutions.
Keep an eye out for more regular updates, as I return to the daily grind of film life. I will do my best to keep everyone in the know as things progress.
